Support your natural defenders

Smart choices help your immune system and antibodies keep you healthy

There are many ways to help support your immune system, which includes your antibodies. From the snacks you prepare to the workouts you do, living a healthy lifestyle can help improve your immunity.

Nutrition

Fuel your immunity

Nutrition is one of the most important areas you can positively impact when it comes to supporting your immune system and your overall wellbeing. Eating well – and specifically meeting the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals in your diet – can support optimal antibody production and function to help keep you healthy.

SLEEP

Restore and repair

Getting enough sleep helps restore the cells of your immune system and supports antibody production. On the other hand, routinely not getting enough sleep can have negative effects on your immune system, including a reduced number of antibodies.

Exercise

Move it or lose it

Physical activity has many health benefits, it may not be surprising that exercise can help support your immune system and antibodies.

As you age, antibody production and function can decrease. Regular physical activity has been shown to slow age-related declines in antibody production and function and increase the number of circulating antibodies in the body.

Stress

Keep calm and antibody on

What goes on in your mind can change how your body feels and performs. Managing stress is known to have positive effects on health, including the health of your immune system and antibodies.

Chronic stress can disrupt the delicate balance of the immune system and lead to a decreased production of antibodies.

Understand how your habits could be impacting your antibody potential

People see the medals, but they don’t see the preparation. I build my daily routine in ways that help support my immune function, including my antibodies, and set me up to better fight disease.

Get answers about immune health

Why are antibodies important for wellness and the immune system?

Think of antibodies as part of the body’s natural defense system. These protective proteins made by your immune system recognize and attach to intruders like germs or toxins in order to help eliminate them from your system and
keep you healthy. Antibodies also activate other parts of your immune system, further increasing your body’s ability to protect itself from harmful invaders.

What triggers the body to start making antibodies?

Your body produces antibodies that recognize many different antigens. Following the immune system’s response to an antigen, specialized immune cells “remember” the antigen and can generate high levels of specific antibodies if it is encountered again.

How do I help increase my body's natural antibody production?

The body’s immune system can be supported by practicing healthy habits like eating nutritious foods, exercising, getting enough sleep, and managing stress. Small changes to your daily habits can help impact your body’s ability to fight disease.

If you have concerns about or are considering making changes to your sleep, nutrition, exercise, or stress management habits, speak with your doctor.

Do I need to be perfect with all my habits to support my immune system?

No! You can always take steps toward improving your overall health and wellbeing, which includes supporting your immune system and antibody protection.
